经过近60场巡演的锤炼,舞蹈诗剧《西施》在第二轮巡演进行了剧目的全方位提升,2.0版本将进一步丰富西施的人物弧光,通过细腻的情感描摹与更具张力的剧情编排,让这位传奇女性形象更加立体动人。

Refined through nearly 60 touring performances, the dance poem drama "Xi Shi" has undergone comprehensive enhancements for its second tour. The 2.0 version will further enrich Xi Shi's character arc. Through delicate emotional portrayal and more intense plot development, the legendary woman's image becomes more three-dimensional and touching.

担任诸暨市文艺顾问,同时也是本剧艺术总指导的杨丽萍说,《西施》给她最大的惊喜,就是一种“打破”,“从年轻人的角度,完成了对经典IP的全新解读,让我们在西施这个传统人物身上,看到了现代女性的力量。”

Yang Liping, who serves as the Cultural Arts Advisor for Zhuji City and is also the Artistic Director of this production, said that the biggest surprise "Xi Shi" gave her was a sense of "breaking through." "From the perspective of young people, it offers a brand-new interpretation of a classic IP, allowing us to see the strength of modern women in this traditional figure, Xi Shi."

西施作为一个以美闻名的古代传奇女性,古往今来,演绎不断,她也逐渐成为中国传统文化中的一种精神代表,每个人心目中都有一个西施,每个人也都是西施。西施无关高矮胖瘦、无关样貌好坏,她是一种女性力量,一缕时代曙光。

Xi Shi, an ancient legendary woman renowned for her beauty, has been constantly re-interpreted throughout history. She has gradually become a spiritual symbol in traditional Chinese culture. Everyone has their own image of Xi Shi in their mind, and in a way, everyone is also Xi Shi. Xi Shi is not about height or weight, nor about specific facial features; she represents a kind of female strength, a ray of dawn in her era.

舞蹈诗剧《西施》正是现代视角下对于传统经典的全新演绎,以吴越争战为历史背景,以西施一生传奇经历为主线,解构一代名姝的风云人生,开启一场探索女性成长与蜕变的绽放之旅。

The dance poem drama "Xi Shi" is precisely a new interpretation of a traditional classic from a modern perspective. Set against the historical backdrop of the Wu-Yue wars and following the legendary life of Xi Shi, it deconstructs the turbulent life of this famous beauty, embarking on a journey exploring female growth and transformation.

命运抉择,聚焦西施成长蜕变

过去的许多艺术作品常将西施别越赴吴后的经历作为故事的重头戏,由此突出她为复国作出的努力和牺牲,而《西施》则打破了惯常做法,聚焦西施的成长史,探讨女性的成长和蜕变。本剧以西施个人的女性视角切入,通过西施从苎萝村少女到越国复兴棋子的命运转折,探寻乱世中个体与家国、情感与道义的碰撞。

Many past artistic works often focused heavily on Xi Shi's experiences after leaving Yue for Wu, highlighting her efforts and sacrifices for her country's restoration. "Xi Shi," however, breaks this convention by concentrating on her growth story, exploring her personal development and metamorphosis. The play adopts Xi Shi's personal female perspective, tracing her fateful turn from a young maiden in Zhuluo Village to a pawn in the restoration of Yue, exploring the clash between the individual and the state, and between personal feelings and moral righteousness in turbulent times.

在故事中,少女西施有对爱情的向往和羞涩,她不缺可爱和灵动,更不缺对越国的大爱,这种大爱体现在其整个蜕变过程中。这也是《西施》塑造这个人物弧光最厚重的地方。

In the story, the young Xi Shi possesses yearnings and shyness towards love. She is full of charm and vitality, and more importantly, possesses a great love for Yue. This great love is manifested throughout her entire transformation process. This is also where the portrayal of her character arc in "Xi Shi" carries the most profound weight.

Xi Shi's Pioneering "Xiangji Dance," China's Earliest "Tap Dance"

西施善舞。春秋时期著名的宫廷舞蹈,同时也是被后世人誉为中国最早的踢踏舞——“响屐舞”就是由西施首创的。

Xi Shi was skilled in dance.The famous court dance of the Spring and Autumn period, later revered as China's earliest tap dance – the "Xiangji Dance" – was pioneered by Xi Shi.

《西施》在舞台上重现了这一失传千年的“响屐舞”,舞者脚穿木屐、裙系小铃,裙摆摇曳,铃铛作响,面容之美与木屐之美相映成辉,展现出西施的聪明才智和艺术天赋。

"Xi Shi"recreates this long-lost "Xiangji Dance" on stage. Dancers wear wooden clogs, with small bells attached to their skirts. As their skirts sway, the bells chime, their facial beauty complementing the rhythm of the clogs, showcasing Xi Shi's intelligence and artistic talent.

昂扬热血“船拳舞”,再现吴越武术乾坤

Spirited and Passionate "Boat Fist Dance," Recreating the Martial World of Wu and Yue

船拳,是起源于春秋时期越国的一种传统武术形式,据传是由越国水军在驾船打仗时发展而来。舞蹈诗剧《西施》中,越国士兵的“船拳舞”灵感源自江南渔民在颠簸船头习武的传统,动作紧凑刚劲,展现复国壮志。

Boat Fist(Chuan Quan) is a traditional martial art form originating from the State of Yue during the Spring and Autumn period, said to have been developed by the Yue navy while fighting from their boats. In the dance poem drama "Xi Shi," the "Boat Fist Dance" performed by Yue soldiers draws inspiration from the tradition of Jiangnan fishermen practicing martial arts on rocking boat prows. The movements are compact and powerful, expressing the lofty ambition to restore their country.

舞者们巧妙地借助道具,展现出战士们在船头演练厮杀的雄姿英发;再通过多媒体的光影助力,营造出“三千越甲可吞吴”的雄浑气魄。

The dancers cleverly use props to showcase the heroic posture of soldiers training and fighting on the boat prows.Assisted by multimedia lighting and shadows, they create the majestic spirit of "Three Thousand Elite Warriors of Yue Could Swallow Wu".

 

刚柔并济教习舞,武术身段韵味长

Teaching Dance Blending Strength and Grace, Martial Arts Poses with Lasting Charm

剧中教习嬷嬷的独舞更是让人眼前一亮,舞蹈弹跳和武术技巧刚柔并济、相得益彰,通过身体的流畅性和动作的力量性,展现出古典舞独特的韵味。

The solo dance of the instructing matron in the play is particularly eye-catching.The dance's bounce and martial arts techniques blend strength and grace, complementing each other perfectly. Through fluid body movements and powerful execution, it showcases the unique charm of classical dance.

这段独舞展示了中国舞的魅力特点在于其独特的弹跳和武功技巧相结合,通过身体动作的流畅和力度,展示了古典舞韵味的独特之处。

This solo demonstrates that the appeal of Chinese dance lies in its unique combination of bouncing steps and martial arts skills.Through the fluidity and strength of body movements, it highlights the distinctive character and lingering charm of classical dance.

国风舞美重留白,古典时尚大写意

Chinese-Style Stage Aesthetics Emphasizing Negative Space, Classical and Fashionable Freehand Brushwork

舞蹈诗剧《西施》在视觉呈现上追求东方极简美学的意象表达,留白艺术在剧中随处可见。作品摒除传统、刻板的形式美,将东方雅韵与现代极简相结合,给观众以想象空间。

The dance poem drama "Xi Shi" pursues the expression of imagery rooted in Eastern minimalist aesthetics in its visual presentation. The art of negative space is ubiquitous throughout the play. Eschewing traditional, rigid formal beauty, it combines Eastern elegance with modern minimalism, giving the audience room for imagination.

整个舞台充满纸雕质感,配合留白的灯光艺术、虚实结合。总编导王韬瑞在舞台上为观众营造了两层幻境:一层是西施对于爱情的幻想,另一层是勾践为了复国大业为吴国营造的纸醉金迷的假象。

The entire stage is filled with a paper-cut sculpture-like texture, complemented by the art of negative lighting, blending the real and the illusory. Chief Director Wang Tao Rui has created two layers of illusion for the audience: one is Xi Shi's fantasy about love, the other is the illusory, decadent facade of luxury created by Gou Jian for the State of Wu as part of his plan to restore Yue.

这两层幻境通过倒置的舞台布景来呈现,亭台楼阁、山峦船舶都被倒置在了舞台上方,呈现一派镜花水月之像。王韬瑞解释说:“这种镜像之美不仅是舞台呈现,更是理想照进现实的共鸣。”

These two layers of illusion are presented through inverted stage scenery – pavilions, towers, mountains, and ships are all suspended upside down above the stage, presenting a scene like flowers in a mirror or the moon reflected in water. Wang Tao Rui explains: "This beauty of mirroring is not just stage presentation; it's the resonance of ideals illuminating reality."

第二幕——谋 Act II – Strategy

苎萝双姝舞袖翻

范舟重寻入云深

非因尝胆孤忠在

三千越甲待云谋

  • Two beauty of Zhuluo, sleeves twirl and flow,
  • Fan Li's boat returns, seeking depths others don't know.
  • Not just for enduring hardship, loyalty stands true,
  • Three thousand Yue warriors await the plan to ensue.

第三幕——结 Act III – Bond

学步宫深笑未休

忽窥剑影动清眸

莲屐痕新犹忍痛

月廊终许暗结舟

  • Learning palace steps, laughter not yet past,
  • A chance sight of his sword-dance quickens her tender feeling.
  • New prints on lotus clogs, pain endured within,
  • Moonlit corridor allows a secret vow to begin.

孤灯照影千帆过

尽掷前尘向越关

  • Boat Fist stirs high, Yue armor cold,

  • Casting all her past towards Yue's gates fast.

尾声一离 Epilogue – Departure

兰舟一去烟波冷

越甲三千待诏时

纵使五湖风月好

不画眉痕画国碑

  • The orchid boat leaves, misty waves turn cold,
  • Three thousand Yue troops await the command bold.
  • Though lakes and hills are fair in view,
  • She draws not brows but her country's mark anew.
