Witness a legend of Indian classical music at the 10th Chaiti Arts Festival! Ustad Shujaat Husain Khan, a five-time Grammy-nominated sitar virtuoso and "national treasure" of India, makes his Shanghai debut. Known for his unique "Gayaki Ang" style, he "sings" through his sitar, creating a mesmerizing blend of melody and voice. Joined by two of India's most promising tabla percussionists, Arkodeep Das and Amit Dutt Choubey, this promises to be an unforgettable evening of spiritual rhythm and sublime music.

Ustad Shujaat Husain Khan (西塔琴 & 人声)
一位五次格莱美奖提名得主、北印度古典音乐界的泰斗级人物。Shujaat Husain Khan出身于七代西塔琴名门，是西塔琴一代宗师Ustad Vilayat Khan的爱子与得意门生。他开创了独树一帜的"歌唱流派"（Gayaki Ang）演奏风格，以琴弦拟人声，重现嗓音中细腻流转的情感与韵律。演出中他常即兴吟唱，将民间音乐与抒情诗融入器乐演奏，营造出亲切而深邃的情感共鸣。他与伊朗卡曼恰琴大师Kayhan Halhor合作的专辑《The Rain》曾获格莱美"最佳传统世界音乐专辑"提名。他的足迹遍及卡内基音乐厅、伦敦皇家阿尔伯特音乐厅等世界顶 级舞台。

A five-time Grammy-nominated artist and a towering figure in North Indian classical music, Ustad Shujaat Husain Khan carries a seven-generation legacy of sitar masters. Son of the iconic Ustad Vilayat Khan, he has forged his own path with the "Gayaki Ang" (vocal style), using his sitar to mimic the subtle nuances of the human voice. A true innovator, he often weaves soulful vocals and poetry into his performances. His acclaimed cross-cultural collaboration, the album The Rain with the Ghazal ensemble, received a Grammy nomination. He has graced the world's most prestigious stages, from Carnegie Hall to the Royal Albert Hall.

 

Arkodeep Das (塔布拉鼓)
贝拿勒斯流派（Benares Gharana）的青年塔布拉鼓演奏家。四岁启蒙，后进入塔布拉鼓一代宗师Pt. Kumar Bose门下，在"古鲁库尔"师徒传承体系中潜心修习。他以扎实的控鼓功力与日渐深厚的艺术修为，在同辈演奏者中崭露头角，并荣获印度文化资源与训练中心（CCRT）塔布拉鼓国家奖学金。

A rising star from the illustrious Benares Gharana (school of tabla), Arkodeep Das is a master of rhythm. Trained in the traditional "Gurukul" system under the legendary Pt. Kumar Bose, he holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in percussion. His playing is marked by clarity, precision, and a deep sensitivity, making him a sought-after accompanist and a recipient of the prestigious CCRT National Scholarship for Tabla.

 

Amit Dutt Choubey (塔布拉鼓)
七岁习鼓，师承两位当代塔布拉鼓巨擘：印度功勋勋章得主Ustad Zakir Hussain与大师Pt. Yogesh Samsi。长年累月的严苛训练锻造出他敏锐如刃的节奏直觉与清透深邃的音色质感。作为独奏家沉稳内敛，作为伴奏者则以精妙入微的呼应著称，曾与印度小提琴大师Dr. L. Subramaniam、声乐巨擘Ustad Rashid Khan等泰斗级音乐家同台。

Amit Choubey's tabla journey began at age seven and has led him to study under two of the greatest living masters: the iconic Ustad Zakir Hussain and Pt. Yogesh Samsi. This rigorous training has endowed him with a razor-sharp rhythmic intuition and a rich, resonant sound. A gold medalist in his Master's studies, Amit is equally respected as a sensitive accompanist, having shared the stage with legends like Dr. L. Subramaniam and Ustad Rashid Khan.
